Elections are always pendulums. Pendulums swing an equal distance from which it was swung. When the left swings this pendulum left, it will swing an equal distance the opposite direction.

Elections are always pendulums. Pendulums swing an equal distance from which it was swung. When the left swings this pendulum left, it will swing an equal distance the opposite direction. If you don’t want a Reagan, don’t elect a Carter, if you don’t want a Trump, don’t elect an Obama.
When the pendulum is swung to open borders, that pendulum will swing back as there are many who don’t believe in open borders. Create a sanctuary city that spits in the eye of the rule of law, you also create vitriol from those of the opposite view. People don’t like spit in their eye.
When the pendulum is swung to fiscal irresponsibility, it will swing back to sanity. When the pendulum is swung to condemning people of faith, the pendulum will swing back.
Many in the GOP would have preferred a proven conservative for 2016, Trump didn’t seem to be one, but Trump appealed to many Reagan Democrats from the rust belt. Trump appealed to Democrat miners, loggers, and a growing small percent of minorities who realized Democrats have bungled the management of their cities. It is the left that created the hunger for a Trump.
When the left legalized sexual predators to declare they are transgender so they can enter bathrooms of the opposite sex; there was rightfully a backlash. Cross dressers and transgenders could always enter these bathrooms unnoticed. A law was not only unneeded; it has been harmful.
The pendulum swung right past Bush, Carson, Christie, Cruz, Fiorina, Gilmore, Graham, Huckabee, Jindal, Kasich, Pataki, Paul, Perry, Rubio, Santorum, Walker, and the pendulum settled upon Trump. I advocated for Cruz and against what I called a “crass ass” (Trump) for six months, as I preferred a conservative with decorum. The left swung the pendulum swung beyond my wish.
After a term or two of a President Trump, the left will get their revenge and it will be their turn to push the pendulum right past another Evan Bayh, Joe Lieberman or Joe Mansion type reasonable Democrat to another Saul D. Alinsk type progressive. The following pendulum swing beyond the Trump type, will then give us a Ted Nugent in return.
I was given a choice of border security or no border security, I was given the choice of free college for all, or fiscal restraint. I was given a choice of a liberal Supreme Court or a conservative one. I was given a choice of a failing health care system or hope for a repair. I voted accordingly, whether I liked the guy or not. I chose accordingly.
Addendum 2024
What 7.5 years this has been since I first published ‘The Pendulum’. in retrospect President Trump I was thrilled when Trump joined my “cult of conservatism” I have been a participant in since 1972 with only a couple or brain farts along the way (Carter & Clinton first term = oop), Trump turned out to be a pleasant surprise I thought he would be a NY Bloomberg style liberal republican at best.
Oh, I believe deep down he was a NYC lib however, a quick study he likely learned from Rudy Giuliani's failed candidacy. He calculated to do what his voters wanted instead; how crazy is that?, our long-term GOP doesn’t even do that. Cruz would have been great President but couldn’t have navigated the minefield hate, lies, and deceit of the left as adroitly as Trump, the exception being his quick draw and reckless mouth and tweets, I still have a problem with.
About the propogandist’s "Trump Cult" gratuitous disparagement to demean. This is merely linguist warfare to shame meek RINOs and discerning independents into not being canceled, condemned, or doxed. The liberals have made it a cultural taboo among their tribe to listen or watch ANY alternative to liberal media. I know some that wouldn’t be caught dead sneaking a peak at Jessy Waters fearing a friend or teenager walked into the room.
Their media gestapo like “media matters” monitors everything for any out of context video clip, statement, or tweet to kick and alternative to their narrative off social media and worse, canceling platforms from existence example ‘Parlor” and they are trying to end X via FCC as we speak.
Liberal policy spells disaster for America, but their propaganda teams are brilliant, but like a vault robber at the top of their game (picture Oceans Eleven) their brilliance is wasted on evil instead of sound and sustainable policy. Sad!
In 2024 again I preferred the lower-key DeSantis, not that Trump did a bad job, he did great, but because of the exponentially growing obstacles and unjust political persecutions I fear the evil propogandists have manufactured too many doubters for the best candidate to succeed.
But wait; The democrats have gone so over the top with false accusations, bull-crap convictions of fraud without victim the Idiots have flipped the poor folks they have been lying to, the felons they have been pandering to. Because of the avalanche of lies I don’t even run them down any longer, I just wait for the appeals court to exonerate again. As the Pelosi once said; “You go through the gate. If the gate’s closed you go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we’ll pole-vault in.” They are a tenacious bunch of vandals of America.
If any community can spot a railroading, unjust, persecution, it is the inner-city populations of color. (see video) And yes, those are the ones today suffer the most from phony amnesty programs, inflation, fuel prices and mortgage interests rate, all the while the phony amnesty folks keep their wages down in already troubled communities. They are leaving the DNC reservation in droves. Just when the progressives pissed off suburban moms that prioritize abortion over sound fiscal policy by making abortion a ‘States Rights” issue as it always should have left it in in 1973, the Progressives snuck gay porn into the schools and the sane ones returned to the GOP. The only gift of the Covid scam was the exposure of the pervasion of schools because of zoom classes.
The pendulum swings, I get a belly laugh seven years after I first published this because when Trump is re-elected, the DNC may reflect that maybe Ted Nugent may have been a better swing of the pendulum than an inexhaustible energizer pit bull like Donald J. Trump.
